    baconopolis

My husband and I had a great time at Baconopolis this weekend, and I got recognized by some of my awesome blog readers! (Hello, again!) Baconopolis featured 9 artisan bacons (plus Salumi pancetta, made locally), and 10 dishes that highlighted each bacon. Here I am with the “butterscotch bacon bite” (pork belly glazed with butterscotch sauce). I look photos and notes for Shauna to post over on Pork Knife and Spoon so look for that soon!

Phong goes to Portland, waxes poetic about dinner at SandwichWorks. He then jogs 5K, and eats a second dinner at Tanuki. (This is why we are friends, only I would’ve skipped the jogging.)

Really sweet write-up by Shauna of Pork Knife and Spoon about my pulled pork!

If you’re a Seattlite, you’ve probably heard of Molly Moon, a local organic ice-cream shop that just opened its second location in Capitol Hill. I was there this weekend with some friends and their kids, so I got sample six of the flavors. I got a scoop of the salted black licorice and it was one of the tastiest ice-cream flavors I’d ever had! I wasn’t a huge fan of Molly Moon’s ice-creams when they first opened (texture issues, sorbets were grainy and gummy) but their ice-creams have improved, and now I’m a fan. Go try the salted black licorice before it’s gone! (They even have cajeta as a topping!)
