The Queen Anne Farmer’s Market will be re-opening for Oct. 31st from 3pm – 7pm for one last, end-of-year hurrah. Get some grub from vendors like Maximus Minimus, Skillet, Kaosamiai Thai, Parfait Ice-cream, Patty Pan Grill, and Dante Inferno Dogs. Your favorite farmers will be there too–count on seeing Local Roots Farms and Full Circle, among others.

Also happening at the market: the 1st ever Pumpkin Pie Contest, with proceeds going to charity.

    Pie contest details:
    3:45pm on-site registration
4:00pm judging by Seattle Magazine contributing dining editor, Lorna Yee
    4:30pm winners announced

The contest is open to all, and anything goes! Bake your pumpkin pie in a hubcap, if you’d like. There are no rules.

Points will be awarded for taste, appearance, technique, and creativity.

Space is limited to ten registrants. To register, please send your contact information to Julie Whitehorn at qafarmersmarket@gmail.com

As the event is a fundraiser, a $10 registration fee will be collected at the contest.

First prize is a pumpkin casserole dish from Le Creuset, valued at $200. Second prize is lunch for two at Boulangerie Nantaise.

Hope to see you all there!

Lorna, wish I could be there! Take lots of photos for those of us that can’t attend such an awesome event. :)

Ooh, fun! Even if I can’t come up with a good costume on Halloween, I can at least show up to the QA farmer’s market!

Kam: I’m sure Julie has voluteer photogs lined up–I’ll be busy stuffing my face with pie to snap pictures. ;-)

Yes that photo is gorgeous, isn’t it? Shauna has such a great eye.
