  • Langley chefs dinner on Whidbey Island

A few weeks ago, I learned about the Langley chefs dinner series, an event five Whidbey Island chefs collaborate on every three months to raise money for selected charity. This month, $2000 was raised for the Good Cheer gardening program, a garden that grows produce for their local food bank.

this month’s event was hosted by Mukilteo Coffee Roasters

Chef Matt Costello of the Inn at Langley was the one who came up with this idea a few months ago. He, and four of his chef friends (Sieb Jrriaans of Prima Bistro, Donna Leahy of Chef’s Pantry, Des Rock of Useless Bay Coffee, and Jess Dowdell of Mukilteo Coffee Roasters) served a wonderful meal with paired wines.

    shortrib

The first dinner was hosted at the Inn at Langley, and the money raised went towards Whidbey Island Nourishes, a program that delivers sack lunches for kids in need. The next dinner will be held in three months at Prima Bistro. I’ll be sure to post the information on this blog if anyone is interested in supporting these talented chefs and their causes when the tickets go on sale.
