Frost donuts

Have you heard of Frost donuts?

Frost Donuts opened up recently in Mill Creek Town Center, about 30 minutes away from Seattle. A few weeks ago, I went in for a meeting at Seattle Magazine, only to find my editors and colleagues hovering around two half-empty boxes of donuts. (Someone at Frost had gifted us with a ton of samples–oh, the perks of working there!) I remember sampling six flavors, among them, a bacon-topped maple bar, a salted caramel one, the plain glazed, German chocolate cake, PB&J, and a cream-filled yeast donut. The donuts are a little on the sweet side, perfect for an afternoon pick-me-up.

Last week, I attended Foodsnap, a photography workshop put on by Keren Brown and Foodista. (Blog post to come on Seattle Magazine.) Frost Donuts was there, handing out donuts to go with our morning cup of coffee. I got through two flavors that morning, plus another three that afternoon (one of them was Tang flavored!) My favorite Frost donut is the cruller. I also really like the texture of their light and fluffy plain glazed donut.

a Red Velvet donut?
If you’re in Mill Creek, be sure to drop by Frost! I am intrigued by what I assume is a Red Velvet donut pictured above. I would’ve sampled it, except it was on display and I didn’t want to be rude.
